Once Upon a Smile operates a referral process for anyone seeking bereavement support.

Whether you are seeking support for your family, or you are a professional seeking support for a family you are working with.

Our referral process allows us to gather much needed information in the first instance, providing us with an understanding of the support that may be required. Once a referral has been made, it is not uncommon for Once Upon a Smile to reach out for further information.

We believe in early intervention and encourage referrals to be made as early as possible.

The support we provide is tailored to the needs of each individual, and our support can range from 1-1 individual support, resources, advice & guidance.

Self-referral

We understand that if you are making a self-referral, it has taken a lot of courage for you to do so. We want to make the referral process as simple as possible, whilst gathering all the information we need to progress your self-referral.

The self-referral option is for those that are making a referral on behalf of your family.

Please note that making a self-referral means our trained staff may need to ask you questions about your loved one that has died, so we can best support you.

Organisation referral

This referral option is for any professional making a referral on behalf of a family that you are working with. Your organisation could be part of the local authority, a school, hospice or hospital. If this is your first time making a referral, please register to become a referrer.
